What participants said...
emma ho - general participantI think the dress up and make up of those ethnic minorities are amazingly beautiful !
I did enjoy the carnival a lot. I have met some children from South Asia. They are smart and nice, I enjoyed talking to them. And the Barbie was the gift exchanged from a South Asian girl, I really like it . We still keep in contact with each other. And the ethnic minority dancers are beautiful ! |
tim lee - general participantThe girls look good in traditional clothes of ethnic minorities and the ethnic minority girls are especially beautiful.
The accessories and make up are also good. I like the carnival ! I hope I can participate in the next one and the activities will become more interactive next time. |
tobby kwan - volunteerThe carnival was great and even I enjoyed it as a volunteer.
I helped for the make up of dancers. I was shocked by how beautiful they are and their impressive dance moves. Many children were attracted by them as well. I think this is a good activity to let locals know more about the Ethnic Minorities. |
mahima Gadhavi - dancerI enjoy dancing and being paid attention to.
Through the annual carnival of MEMO, we want to let more people to appreciate the way we look. We are confident of our dance and the reaction from the audience proved this. Hopefully our dance will let Hong Kong children respect our culture and our kids. I will attend this kind of events more in the future. Hopefully, I can get more chances to work with MEMO. |
Anna leung - employee of memoThe preparation for the annual carnival took us a lot of money, energy and time.
But all of the payments become meaningful when the Carnival was proved to be a success. People from different districts and industries enjoyed the party. Due to the limitation of money and labour, we cannot organize a bigger one. Hopefully in the future, we can organize carnivals suitable for people from different age group but not mainly for students. The carnival was not only a chance for those students to get along with South Asian culture, but for us, adults, as well. Because the carnival was held quite late in the evening, some parents are worried about their children coming to help us as volunteers, Even though, they said that the activity is rewarding. |
