What participants said...
annie tang - studentI enjoyed the activity a lot.
The food cook by ourselves are delicious and I even cooked the dish I learnt for my mom. I changed my opinion about those ethnic minority students a little bit after the event because of the delicious traditional food. Anyway, it is a good experience for me. |
Jyoti abburi - cooking teacher
The Hong Kong children are smart and lovely, teaching them to cook dishes from my hometown is interesting.
I have participated in FUN COOKING for several times. I really enjoy doing this meaningful thing and spreading the culture of my hometown by teaching youngsters to cook. I'd like to spend more time with MEMO in this cooking event. |
remi chung - volunteerI feel happy when I see that the teacher from South Asia and the Hong Kong students are in a good relationship.
And when I see the happiness of the children tasting the food cooked by themselves, I feel a sense of achievement. MEMO really did a good job in organizing the cooking classes. The only pity is that the current event can only benefit a very limited amount of students, hopefully in the future, the event will become bigger to let more people get involved. |
Amy Ho - employee of memoI began to work for MEMO since it has established.
It is happy for us witnessing MEMO turning into a larger organization from a small one with only 9 people. When we decided to start the FUN COOKING, we didn't expect it to be such a success. It has somehow help changing the local students' mind and making them accept those from south Asia. We are planing to organize more meaningful activities to enhance the connection between locals and those who are Ethnic Minorities. Now, we focus our services and events mainly in Yau Tsim Mong district. Hopefully, we can help those Ethnic Minorities in other district of Hong Kong as well. |
